My Purpose

I guess the perfect first post would be to talk about the purpose of this blog right? Well before I jump in I feel like I have to rewind just a tad because I feel like we have to start from the beginning and tell the world why I am here in Montana serving a mission. In October 2012 the Prophet Thomas S. Monson made the announcement "Today I am pleased to announce that able, worthy young women who have the desire to serve may be recommended for missionary service beginning at age 19, instead of age 21" WHAT?!? that is crazy I remember turning to my roommates (I was going to school at BYU-Idaho at the time) and we were all speechless. Soon after I got many phone calls from family and friends, my grandma being the first, asking if I heard the good news. Then I decided to see what the social media world had to say.... lets just say my facebook blew up with posts! Now at the time I was 18, turning 19 in March which meant for me that I could start working on my papers right then! CRAZY STUFF. Well I did not make that decision to go then, it was a little bit longer of a process for me.....
I honestly was SO SCARED to even THINK about going on a mission. I was happy and complacent at where my life was then. But in April 2013 I really felt like I need to take the first part of New Testament (the New Testament class at BYU-I is split into two semesters) so I was like what the heck I need more religion credits anyway so lets sing up! It was the BEST class I have taken just above Organic Chemistry of course. This is what the course description "A study of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ as recorded in the four gospel" We literal studied Christ's life for a whole entire semester it was AMAZING.
So this is where my desire to serve a mission comes into play. The more I studied Christ life, and truly learned what the atonement meant to me I wanted to share this with EVERYONE! Yes I was still scared of the idea of serving a mission. Yes I was scared when I opened my call, went to the MTC, and came to Montana. But none of that trumps my desire to share about Christ.
So this comes to my purpose of having this blog. I am here writing once or twice a week to reach as many people as I can. I am writing this blog to hopefully touch at least one life. I want everyone to have the same joy that I have in my life through this gospel!!!!
